Online Fashionistas: For Better or Worse?

As the Internet progresses into a prominent part of our daily lives, it is almost inevitable for online shopping to roar. But what does this mean for the fashion industry?

Studies show 67.6% of online shoppers are women, so yes ladies; I’m speaking to you. With online sales booming over the past year, demand for women’s clothing and shoes has increased more than 50%. Online shopping has become a quick, convenient, dependable source – allowing buyers to purchase at the click of a button.

Despite some buyers diverting away from local stores, this is not to say the fashion industry is deteriorating. Online shopping has created new pathways for both new and current businesses, whilst an increase in local store websites has encouraged more revenue – yay!

So, what does this mean for us?

As a Fashionista myself, I worship the truly gratifying experience of genuine shopping. However, for those moments I don’t have time to leave the house (because let’s face it, a warm cup of coffee on the lounge is far too tempting to forgo), online shopping provides an easy, accessible option! Available 24/7, online shopping offers a broad range of styles often at cheaper prices, and all in the comfort of your own home – who could go wrong?!

So ladies, open up your webpage and ‘shop til you drop!’ Or shall I say, shop til your computer crashes….
